Our four-year-old classroom prepares students for kindergarten by providing instruction in literacy, math, science, social studies, and the arts. Children learn academic skills, build independence, and express creativity through daily small group learning, choice activities, stories, and songs. Students engage in Bible stories, which are reinforced through weekly chapel, crafts and prayer. Prekindergarten skills taught include letter recognition and sounds, print concepts, comprehension, numbers, shapes, and patterns. During choice time, children choose how they would like to structure their own time and learning in various interest areas including early literacy, math, art, science, dramatic play, fine and gross motor.
